How to Stomp Players in Da Uphill
Finish downs with E or DPadDown, read the third-party, and stop donating stomps of your own.
A downed player in Da Uphill is not a finished fight. Stomp is the finisher the experience documents: E on PC, DPadDown on console and mobile. You walk up, you press the bind, and the knock becomes a kill. Players who skip this page win gunfights and still lose the round because they either never press E or they press it in a crossfire. This is not a fatality cinematic. It is a short, greedy animation that other FFA players can shoot you out of.
Read how to play for when a fight is worth taking. This page is only the last two seconds. Binds live on controls. If stomp is fighting an emote or a UI wheel on your device, fix that before you blame hit detection.
What stomp is
Stomp is the close-range finish on a player who is already down. It exists because hood-inspired FFA copied the same language as Da Hood clones: you break someone, then you have to commit to the body. The official control line is short — E or DPadDown = Stomp — and that is all the live place promises. There is no alternate finisher listed, no execution tree, and no team pickup that makes leaving a knock friendly.
You must be next to the body. Pressing E from mid-street does not vacuum the kill. Sprinting a long line to a knock is how you get traded: the downed player’s timer is not the only clock. Every nearby spawn heard the same gunfire you did.
How to actually land it
After the player drops, look at the street before you look at the body. If the angle is still yours, close the gap with sprint (Left Shift / ButtonL3), cut sprint as you arrive, and press E. If you ADS the whole run-in, you move worse and you still have to stomp at the end. If you hipfire the body instead of stomping, you can waste shots on a player who needed the finisher bind.
Reload before you commit if your mag is empty. A stomp on an empty gun with a third-party incoming is a double death: you miss the finish and you cannot shoot the person who walks up. Reload behind the nearest jamb, then take the body. R / ButtonX is the reload; do not mash E hoping it reloads for you.
On console and mobile, DPadDown is easy to miss in a panic because DPadRight is macro. Practice the two directions as a pair so stomp and macro do not swap under pressure. Phone layouts and thumb parking are on the mobile page; the bind itself does not change.
When not to stomp
Do not stomp into a held angle. If a revolver is already ADS’d on the body, the stomp animation is a free headshot. Do not stomp when two other players are still fighting on that tile; let them empty, then take the leftover if you must. Do not stomp when you are one shot and the only path to the body is an open street.
Leaving a knock because chat asked is not mercy in FFA. It is giving them a reset window. Leaving a knock because a third gun is real is not mercy either — it is survival. The distinction is the street, not the message. If you cannot finish safely, back off, hold the doorway, and wait for them to stand into your ADS. That is still a finish. It is just a gun finish instead of a stomp.
Anti-stomp awareness
You will be the body. Plan for it. When you are losing a trade, do not crawl toward the nearest open street. Crawl toward cover, a jamb, or any tile that makes the enemy sprint through a line someone else can shoot. If a reset will save you from a guaranteed stomp, reset. Feeding the animation only trains the other player.
After you down someone, assume you are now the stomp target for a third party. Move. The player who stands on a body to teabag is the easiest revolver shot on the map. Crouch-peek away, reload, then decide if the stomp is still yours. Movement is how you leave a bad pile without sprinting in a straight line.
If you keep getting stomped off spawn, your problem is spawn-plane habits, not the E key. Move off spawn, take an angle, and stop hipfiring the first silhouette. Gun choice still matters when the finish is close: double barrel owns the room the body is in; revolver owns the player who tries to run in from the street. Rank those habits on the gun tier list.
Trades on the body
The classic bad stomp is two players swinging the same knock and both dying to a third. Call that a body trade and stop taking it. One person should own the tile. If you did not down them, you do not automatically own the stomp. Waiting one second for the greedy player to press E, then shooting them, is legal FFA. It is also how scripts and aim tools get advertised — which is a separate, risky topic on combat scripts. Winning stomps with the published bind is enough.
Macro does not replace stomp. X / DPadRight is a different control. Some players mash both and wonder why they slide or click instead of finishing. Separate the keys. If you want movement tech around the body, read macro after you can land a clean E without looking at the keyboard.
A simple finish checklist
- Confirm they are down, not just crouched.
- Check the nearest doorway and the stair if there is one.
- Reload if you are empty.
- Close the gap, cut sprint, press E or DPadDown.
- Leave the tile. Do not pose.
If step 2 fails, skip to holding the angle. If step 3 fails, you are gambling. If step 5 fails, you will be the next clip. That checklist is the whole skill. Da Uphill does not add a second finisher because you liked the place.
Stomp is how FFA fights actually end on this map, and it is also how greedy players donate the next life. Press E when the tile is yours, skip it when a third gun is already paid up, and never treat a knock as a teammate who asked for time. The street only records who was still standing when the animation finished — not who landed the first shot.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Da Uphill FFA, guns, stomp, and codes.
What button stomps in Da Uphill?
E on PC. DPadDown on console and mobile. You have to be next to the downed player. See controls if the bind is fighting another action.
Can I get killed while stomping?
Yes. Stomp is a close-range commit. A third player can trade you during the animation. Check the angle before you run in.
Should I leave knocked players who ask in chat?
No. Da Uphill is FFA. Leave a knock only when the street is unsafe for you, not because someone typed.
How do I stop getting stomped after I go down?
Crawl to cover, reset if the stomp is guaranteed, and stop re-peeking the same door on the next life. Spawn-plane and movement habits matter more than the E key.
